Sizzle is an exciting new startup that’s changing the world of gaming. At Sizzle, we’re building AI to automate gaming highlights, directly from Twitch and YouTube streams. Our team is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to join our dynamic and talented team. If you are a gamer, a streamer, or someone else who is excited to disrupt the gaming industry with AI automation, then Sizzle will be the perfect fit.

What You Will Do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable machine learning solutions, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
• Work closely with software engineering, AI engineering, and product teams to integrate advanced machine learning algorithms into production, adhering to MLOps best practices.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of our machine learning platforms, with an emphasis on technologies such as Torch, TensorFlow, CUDA, and Nvidia Triton.
• Enhance our distributed systems capabilities using tools like Kubernetes, Dask, Ray, Kafka, Spark, or Hadoop.
• Apply your knowledge in ETL processes and workflow orchestration using Prefect to build data pipelines.
• Drive innovations in database and schema design, leveraging your understanding of Postgres and MongoDB, and preparing for expansion into a vector database such as Clickhouse or Supabase.
• Ensure optimal application of cloud technologies and Unix/Linux environments to support our infrastructure.
  
  

Who You Are

• A seasoned engineer with strong fundamentals in computer science and a diverse programming skill set, with Python being your strength.
• Proficient in MLOps practices, with a deep interest in AI and machine learning.
• Experienced in data engineering, familiar with organizing and querying data at scale using technologies such as Spark or Dask.
• Familiar with at least one workflow orchestration tool such as Airflow, Dagster, Argo Workflows, or Prefect (preferred).
• Strong understanding of various database technologies and the tradeoffs between them. Familiarity with design patterns using SQL, NoSQL/document stores, and KV stores.
• Ideally is familiar with FAST API also
• Working knowledge of the basic services on at least one major cloud provider.
• Capable of managing projects and stakeholders effectively, known for excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Autonomous, proactive, and customer-oriented, with a track record of delivering reliable and maintainable solutions at scale.
• A team player who values knowledge sharing and mentoring within a collaborative environment.
  
  

Nice To Have

• Prior startup experience is a plus.
• Previous experience working with video or image data is a plus. Knowledge of ffmpeg is helpful but not required.
• Interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.
• Interest in gaming.
